​​Venue Security

​On-Site Security: Trained security staff will be present at key entry points and throughout the venue to monitor activities and assist attendees as needed.

Access Control: Entry to the event will be restricted to registered attendees. ID checks or badges may be required to ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed into the conference areas.

​​​Medical Assistance 

​Emergency Contacts: For any medical emergencies, you can dial 10177 (ambulance) or 112 (general emergency number) from your phone.

Medical Services: We will have a first-aid team on-site at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) throughout the event. For any minor health issues, they will provide immediate care. In case of emergencies, Cape Town has excellent hospitals close to the event venue.

Pharmacies: There are many pharmacies around the CTICC and the V&A Waterfront for any required medications or supplies.

​​Transportation Safety 

​Pre-Arranged Shuttle Services: We encourage attendees to use our pre-arranged shuttle services from the venue to your hotel and the social events. Shuttle services are scheduled to ensure you travel safely between the event locations.

E-Hailing Services: Services like Uber and Bolt are reliable and available throughout Cape Town. However, we recommend using these services from well-lit areas and confirming the driver’s identity and car details before getting into the vehicle.

Safety Tip: Avoid walking alone at night. If possible, share your ride details with a friend or colleague via the app’s safety features.

​​• Staying Vigilant: While Cape Town is generally safe for tourists, we recommend practicing caution as you would in any international city.

• Be aware of your surroundings and avoid carrying large amounts of cash or displaying valuables openly (e.g., expensive jewelry or electronics).

• Stick to well-known tourist areas like the V&A Waterfront, Long Street, and other popular destinations, especially after dark .

• Avoid walking alone in unfamiliar areas. If you plan to explore, it’s always better to do so in groups.

• Hotel Safety: Please ensure your hotel room door is locked at all times and use the hotel’s safe for your valuables.

Water & Food Safety

Tap Water: Cape Town’s tap water is generally safe to drink. However, if you prefer bottled water, it’s readily available.

Street Food: Enjoy Cape Town’s local cuisine, but be mindful of food hygiene, especially when trying street food. Stick to well-known establishments, restaurants, or eateries recommended by the event team.

Event Catering: All meals provided during the conference will follow strict health and hygiene protocols. We are catering to various dietary needs, so please inform us if you have any specific requirements.

Weather Preparedness

Cape Town’s Weather in May: May is autumn in South Africa. Cape Town experiences mild weather, but it can be unpredictable with rain and chilly evenings. Pack layers, a light jacket, and an umbrella to stay comfortable throughout your visit.

Sun Protection: Despite cooler temperatures, Cape Town has a strong sun. Wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats if spending extended time outdoors, especially during sightseeing trips.
